Every year our Safety Director, Robert Marshall coordinates a safety event for Eberhard where the importance of fall protection is one of the highlights. This 30-minute demonstration kicks off the day focusing on the ABCD’S of fall protection detailing the Do’s and Don’ts for equipment use and installation methods.
Additional techniques are demonstrated such as, fall protection self-rescue techniques using the prussic loop as a suspension trauma strap on a rescue tripod.
Robert knows how to balance safety with entertainment and he always manages to work in the fun with his “Hardhat Test.” A metal bar is dropped off of the scissor lift platform such as in a real life work accident onto a watermelon with and without a hardhat. This visual demonstration sure is an attention grabber and proves the effectiveness of wearing the hardhat. Stay safe. Wear your helmet.
